Tour de Feminin Winner Heads to WorldTour: Ginia Caluori Signs with Movistar
.The Movistar women's team continues to build for the future by securing another exceptionally exciting name. The Spanish WorldTour squad has announced the arrival of Swiss rider Ginia Caluori, who will wear the blue jersey starting from the 2027 season.
The 23-year-old rider is among the biggest breakthrough talents of this season. Only a few years ago, she focused primarily on mountain biking, where she claimed a silver medal at the U23 World Championships. This year, she also turned heads by winning the gravel race The Traka 100 on her debut in the discipline. However, her most prominent results in recent months have come on the road.
A Spectacular Introduction to Czech Fans
Caluori left a significant mark in the Czech Republic this year. At the Tour de Feminin stage race, she was one of the main stars of the entire peloton.

.The Swiss rider won one of the stages and subsequently took the overall victory. It was precisely this performance in North Bohemia that definitively confirmed her future lies among the world's top teams. Movistar had been monitoring her progress for a long time and has now decided to act.
"Ginia is one of the most promising and versatile riders of today. Despite only racing on the road for a short time, she has already delivered a number of very promising performances that confirm her immense potential. We believe her development will continue and that she will become an important part of our team in the coming years," said Movistar General Manager Sebastián Unzué.
Movistar itself announced the transfer on social media with the following words: "Ginia Caluori, one of the most promising and versatile riders of her generation, will wear the Movistar jersey from 2027. The U23 Mountain Bike World Championship silver medalist, winner of The Traka 100 gravel race on her debut, and fresh winner of the Tour de Feminin joins the team with immense room for further growth."
From Skis to Professional Cycling
Caluori's background is equally fascinating. She grew up in the Swiss mountains and pursued competitive skiing until the age of 18. Only later did she choose to study sports science, gradually discovering cycling.

First came mountain bikes, followed by gravel and road racing. "I am incredibly happy and excited to join the team. I can't wait for this new chapter to begin," Caluori stated.
The sheer speed of her rise surprised even herself. "I never expected everything to happen so quickly. In my second year, I won the silver medal at the U23 World Championships, and that was when I realized I could go really far," the Swiss rider noted.
Inspired by Van Vleuten and Reusser
The Swiss talent also admitted that Movistar had been on her radar for a long time: "Annemiek van Vleuten was a huge inspiration to me. Last year, I also had the opportunity to get to know Marlen Reusser and learned a lot from her. She inspires me, and we really clicked on a personal level. The opportunity to become part of this project is an incredible chance."
At the same time, Caluori emphasized that her ambitions are long-term. "I always try to be the best version of myself and do it in a sustainable way. I want to build a long-term relationship with the team and help achieve many victories," declared the cyclist, who currently resides in the municipality of Bonaduz, near Chur, Switzerland.
