Tour de Feminin 2026: Swiss Winner After 25 Years, a Champion Who Appeared with Cruise, and a Czech Rider in the Top 10
The overall winner was Swiss rider Giana Caluori from Team Nexetis. The highest-ranked rider in the UCI standings laid the foundation for her eventual triumph in the opening stage, when Nexetis finished second in the team time trial. Just a day later, she launched a 50-kilometer breakaway and comfortably won the stage. She pulled on the yellow jersey and never let anyone else take it away.

“We wanted to bring the yellow jersey all the way to the finish, and we managed to do that. In the last two stages, we were able to control my lead in the overall standings. We stuck to the plan, and it worked out. Thanks to the whole team,” said the 23-year-old rider, the first Swiss winner of the Tour since Sandra Wampfler in 2001. Belgian rider Tess Moerman took silver, while Slovak prospect Sofia Ungerová claimed bronze.

The best Czech rider was Kristýna Zemanová from VIF Cycling, who finished tenth overall and was still fighting for the mountains classification jersey until the final stage. The best Czech stage result came from her teammate Eliška Kvasničková. In the final stage, she spent a long time in a three-rider breakaway battling for the stage victory, eventually finishing second.“It's a sport, but this is absolutely fantastic. We worked well together in the breakaway and kept the pace high. Since the peloton wasn’t catching us, we’re really happy we managed to stay away until the finish,” said the rider who placed third overall in 2023.

Another rider who drew major attention in Krásná Lípa was the winner of the final stage, Kate Courtney from Team USA. A mountain bike superstar – world champion, World Cup winner, and Cape Epic champion from South Africa. “It was an amazing day. It’s my first victory in my first road race,” laughed the 30-year-old cyclist, who can also boast about appearing alongside Tom Cruise in a promotional clip for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. “It was an incredible feeling to stand next to such a star. I really enjoyed it,” she recalled about the filming.

The mountains classification jersey went to Denmark’s Olympia Norrid-Mortensen. Tess Moerman won the points classification, while Poland’s Malwina Mul was the best under-23 rider. The best team in the competition was Switzerland’s Nexetis.
